Basil-Fennel Syrup

Ingredients
1/2 cup loosely packed basil leaves
1/2 cup diced fennel stalks
1 cup white granulated sugar
Preparation
In a small pot, bring 1 cup water, basil and fennel to a simmer. Simmer 10 minutes, strain, and add sugar. Stir to dissolve sugar and let cool.
