Gevalia: Selecting the Finest Coffee Beans
Released on 06/23/2014
(cheerful music)
When we started producing Gevalia here
in the United States,
we did a number of cupping sessions
to assure that we fully understood
the rich flavor profiles.
David took the time
to go through each of the origins with us
and give us key flavor attributes
that we could target.
(whistling music)
Coffee beans have different shapes and colors
from different regions in the world.
That is the first indication
from which area that it comes from.
Then you try to confirm that
when you do the actual cupping
and then you can also go into more details.
Maybe about which individual country
or farm it comes from.
The only way to really learn it
is by doing it.
I put the coffee to my mouth,
add oxygen and also then slurp the coffee
all over my tongue.
And that is where I register the different flavors.
We really managed to create what Victor Theodore Engwall
started within the project.
Really get the smooth, well-balanced product
that anyone would appreciate.
