Hi, I'm Tanya Steel.
Welcome to Epicurious' guide
to summer entertaining.
Today, we are having a patriotic menu,
a celebratory American menu.
I've got my friend here,
entertaining expert Gina Provenzano.
Gina, thank you so much
for doing what is a very festive table.
It is, it's very patriotic.
We've kind of created
a classic American menu here.
We've got grilled chicken breast
which has been marinated in beer
and soy sauce and cilantro.
And we're serving it with a corn salsa,
which has got red onions and red bell peppers.
Then, I always love
to serve grilled corn on the cob
with chicken.
The other thing I love doing
is always serving chicken and corn
with potato salad.
It's pretty. It's basically
red, white and blue.
It's got red bliss potatoes
and purple potatoes
and white potatoes, obviously.
I always like to do something
that's kind of a showstopper,
so we've got a red, white and blue
strawberry angel food trifle.
And it's got Greek yogurt
and just some angel food cake
that you buy at the store.
So this is a fantastic recipe
to have in your arsenal.
You can always kind of pull this together
at the last minute.
I love what you've done with this table.
I don't think that people need
to buy into the whole stars and stripes.
If you get things that are red and white,
like these paisley napkins,
you can use them again and again
and not just for the holidays.
The centerpiece idea,
it's just white rice
and we dyed it red and blue.
You can put candles in it
or dollar store flags.
It's just a really way to
show your patriotism. I see.
Well, another way to show your patriotism
is by having a red, white and blue sangria.
