When I saw Stacy's Pita Crisps in my local market a few weeks ago, I bought them right away. Having never noticed them before, I thought I was happening upon something new.

The next day, I gushed about the crispy snacks to my co-workers. They're so thin and yet so sturdy, I told them. They scoop up hummus easily and somehow shatter with unparalleled satisfaction when you crunch down. They were the best crackers I'd had since the last time I made my own crackers at home.

Apparently, however, I'd been living under a rock: the Crisps line was introduced in 2012. A product from the Stacy's brand, which has been around since founder Stacy Madison began toasting day-old pita bread and handing out the resulting chips to customers waiting for sandwiches at her Boston street cart two decades ago, the Crisps are a lighter, thinner version of the brand's flagship offering.

Delighted to have found this new, superlative cracker, I tried to buy the Crisps again, but they were nowhere to be found. I feared that this glorious, crispy experience was never to be repeated. But then I reached out to a rep from Stacy's, who told me not to worry—I had just hit upon the chips at an awkward time. Just this month, Stacy's Pita Crisps underwent a rebranding. With new packaging, they now go by the name Stacy's Pita Thins, highlighting their inherent lightness.

Currently, the newly renamed Pita Thins are available in three flavors: "Simply Naked" with just sea salt, "Five Cheese" flavored with cheddar, mozzarella, asiago, Romano, and Parmesan, and "Garlic & Herb." While I haven't tried the two flavored varieties, I can say—without question and with no sense of hyperbole—that Stacy's Simply Naked Pita Thins are the best store-bought cracker I've ever had. I'm just glad to know I'll be able to find another bag soon, no matter what they're called.
