Now that you've finally made friends with your starter, are you wondering how to store your bread? A bread box or a linen bag will go a long way toward protecting it from pests and dust (and keeping it from drying out) without creating too humid of an environment (the way a plastic bag will). Of course, a clean, loosely wrapped kitchen towel will work just fine—that's what our long time sourdough baker and editorial director David Tamarkin does.
But if you've spent the last eight week mastering your bread-baking skills, maybe you're looking to treat yourself to some primo storage that's gorgeous, too. Or maybe you need a beautiful basket to show off the goods at the dinner table. I, for one, have not jumped on the sourdough train because it's too much of a project for me right now...but I could be convinced if there was a particularly nice basket at the other end.
