How to Open a Bottle of Champagne
Released on 11/11/2008
(upbeat music)
Opening a bottle of champagne.
Champagne is typically served as a high-end
celebratory drink.
However, there are so many good, affordable
champagnes that it's possible to have it more casually.
Start with the bottle upright on a countertop.
Peel the foil cover off and carefully
remove the wire cage.
Keep in mind the cork could go flying
once the wire is removed.
Don't ever shake the bottle or you'll
wind up with a huge mess.
Then, place a dishtowel over the cork.
Gently twist the bottle to loosen the cork
and slowly ease the cork out of the bottle's neck.
Listen for the pop and pour.
Remember to always work with the cork
aimed away from your face and away from your guests.
Champagne is always served cold and is best
drunk at a temperature of around 43
to 48 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cheers!
