6 limes
1/4 cup sugar

Preparation

  1. Remove the zest from 1 of the limes with a vegetable peeler. Into a bowl squeeze all of the juice and the pulp from the limes. In a large heatproof pitcher dissolve the sugar in 1/4 cup boiling water, add the lime zest and the lime juice and pulp, and stir in 5 cups boiling water. Let the limeade cool and chill it for 2 hours. Strain the limeade into tall glasses filled with ice cubes.
