Janelle McComb
Home Cook
Janelle McComb was a longtime friend of Elvis Presley’s family, having been 15 years old and a neighbor of Vernon and Gladys Presley when Elvis was born. She became locally famous for her pound cake recipe, which she would continue to deliver to Elvis at Graceland every Christmas until his death in 1977. McComb remained friends with the Presley family and was even petitioned to write a poem to be engraved on the singer’s headstone. McComb passed away in 2005.
