Carla Rollins was the owner of Carla's Bakery and Cafe in York, Maine, until the restaurant's closing in 2006. Before opening the cafe, she worked as a caterer and sold baked goods out of the back of her station wagon at the now-defunct York farmers market. In a 2003 article for Gourmet, Ann Beatie wrote, "at Carla's, people experience the childhood they wish they'd had," praising the warm, homey vibe the staff and patrons exhibited when visiting the bakery as much as the tarts, cookies, and scones on display. Today, Carla has returned to catering.
